# Talk to your sessions

> Start sessions, and send your agents instructions from the floor, wherever they run.

Click one of your agents and press **Talk to it**. Type in **Tell it what to do next** and press **Send**. Only you can talk to your own sessions.

## Two kinds of session

| Session | What Talk to it does |
| - | - |
| **Run from the floor**: a [new session](#start-a-new-session), or a handoff you took with **Run it from the floor** | Isoplan runs it on your computer, with no window. You do everything from the floor: send instructions, answer its permission prompts, stop it, or take it back to your terminal. |
| **One you opened yourself**, in a terminal, Orca or the Claude app | Your message goes into the session as if you had typed it there. The floor says **It runs on …, outside Isoplan**. |

Use a session run from the floor when you aren't at that computer, or don't want a window. Use **Talk to it** on your own session to nudge one you already have open.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Talking to a session you opened yourself needs Claude Code 2.1.312 or newer. If the floor says **Watching only**, update Claude Code, then type `/reload-plugins` in that session.

## Start a new session

Press **+** in your portrait row. The session runs on your computer, in a new room of its own.

**1. Pick the repo**

**Which repo** lists the office's repos you have used Claude Code in on this computer.

**2. Pick the branch**

**Branch** starts on **The one it's on now**. Pick another and it opens in a separate copy of the repo, so your own checkout isn't switched.

**3. Pick where it runs**

**Where** starts on **Run it from the floor**: no window, and you carry on with **Talk to it**. Your computer may also offer **Open in Orca**, **Open in Claude app**, **Open in terminal** or **Open as a headless session**.

**4. Say what you want done**

Type it in **What you want done** and press **Start**. Its room shows on the floor in a moment.

Your computer must be [connected](https://docs.isoplan.app/guides/connect-claude-code.md). If Claude Code isn't installed there, press **Install Claude to continue**; if it needs signing in, press **Sign in to continue** and finish in your browser.

## While it works

A message you send while it is working waits for the current turn to end. Press **Add to the queue** to line up several. Press **Take back** on one to remove it before it is sent.

Press **Read everything it did** for the full detail of a turn, or **Read the whole session**.

## Sessions run from the floor

### Permission prompts

When it needs your permission, its bubble flags and the floor chimes. The card says what it wants to do. Press **Allow** or **Deny**. With no answer in 10 minutes, it is denied and the agent is told.

### Stop it, or take it back

* **Stop** ends it at once, even mid-turn. Your next instruction starts it again.
* **Take it back to my terminal** closes it on the floor and gives you a command to carry on in a terminal.

### Let it go ahead without asking

You can let sessions run from the floor skip permission prompts. It is off until you choose it. Turn it on under **★ Your settings → Sessions you drive from the floor**. It only applies to sessions started after you change it.

> [!WARNING]
>
> With this on, Claude Code runs commands and changes files without asking you first. Your admin can turn it off for the whole office.

## If your computer isn't connected

The floor says your computer isn't connected. Press **Restart Isoplan on this machine** and allow your browser to open Isoplan. If that doesn't help, follow [Connect Claude Code](https://docs.isoplan.app/guides/connect-claude-code.md) again.
