A handoff passes a room’s work on with a brief your agent writes. The work goes on its own branch, so nothing is merged or deployed.

Hand it over

1

Open your agent

Click your agent on the floor and press Hand it over.
2

Pick who takes it

Choose A new session of yours, or a person under Hand over to…, then press Hand over.
3

Wait for the brief

Your computer writes the brief and pushes the branch. The floor shows Waiting for … to take it.
Hand it to a new session of yours when an agent’s context is nearly full: the new session starts with the brief and can ask the old one questions.

Hand over a new task

To pass on a separate piece of work, type it in A new task for it before you press Hand over. The receiver starts it in a room of its own, linked to yours, with a brief written for that task, and can ask your room questions. Your session carries on. Leave the field empty for a usual handover. Engineers can also type /isoplan:handover <name> in the session, or /isoplan:handover me.
The brief and the branch are checked for secrets first. If one looks like a secret, the floor says Held and names the file. Take it out, or press Push it anyway if it is safe.

Take a handoff

A handoff for you shows as a dashed portrait in your row, saying who it is from. Press Take handoff and pick how to open it: The floor only offers what your computer can do. If Claude Code isn’t installed, press Install Claude to continue; if it asks you to sign in, do that in the browser window it opens.
Opening a handoff trusts its folder: its Claude Code settings, hooks and setup scripts will run. Only take handoffs from people you work with.
Once you take it, the session is in the same room, and your agent can ask the room’s earlier agent questions. The person who handed it over can press Turn off asking.

Reject or dismiss

  • Reject, beside Take handoff, turns it down. Nothing opens, and the sender sees that you rejected it.
  • Dismiss clears a handoff you have finished with.
  • A handoff nobody takes expires after a week, unless your office set another time. Both of you see that it expired.

Something went wrong

The floor names the step that failed, such as Making the worktree failed. Press Hand over again to try again: handing to the same person replaces the earlier one.
